Week 5, Newspaper Mani

Hello All, I hope that everyone had a great Monday!!
This is week 5 of the 52 Week Challenge...Newspaper Mani.  I don't know why I was dreading this one so much.  I tried it and it didn't work, then I realized that I had put a topcoat on so the newspaper would not transfer!!!  The second time it was a go, and soooo easy!!
I got my first Confetti polish today and used it, shade Cherries Jubilee.  I couldn't get a good photo of the shade, it is so pretty  :)

I did add a coat of Northern Lights to liven it up!!
Also I want to give thanks to Jenni at http://goldspecknails.blogspot.com/2012/01/i-love-your-blog-award.html  for awarding me the I Love Your BLog Award.   I plan to do a post on this tomorrow.

Well, good night all, thank you again for coming by, you don't know how much I appreciate it!!!

Purple Zebra

Good Afternoon All!!! As you know , I belong to the FB group  Adventures in Stamping.  Todays challenge was to use a plate ending in 7......I don't have very many of those  :(
So I went to the tried and true, Zebra Print!!
My base coat is my new China Glaze Spontaneous, which is nice and cremey, very good application, plus it is a shade of purple!!!
Then I sponged, I am on a sponging kick, with the following: NYC Uptown, China Glaze For Audrey, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Mellow Yellow. That was topped with a coat of  Northern Lights, I love that stuff!!!

The image plate used was Konad M57, zebra, with NYC Skin Tight Denim for the stamping.
I was only going to do one hand, but I really liked and now am sporting both hands for a couple of days!!

Hope you like it, have a great day and thanks for coming by!!

To Matte or Not to Matte

Good Evening All!  I am doing the happy dance...my week is over  :)
I did a mani last night and decided to see how it would look matte. I took photos both ways, and I couldn't tell too much difference :(
I did my usual base coat and then 2 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Fairy Teal. I love the shade, nice and cremey,  but it is a" you know what" to remove.  My nails and my skin were  GREEN!!!  You all know how much I dislike green.  I took me a long time and alot of work to get it off...but the green is now gone!!

These are the photos with Out the Door Topcoat.  I used IP M63 with the Sally Hansen Color Quik  pens in the blue and gold chromes.

And now with Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love.

Can you tell a difference?  I can maybe a faint amount, perhaps it is just the shade of polish that I chose.
I will be posting  the giveaway details on Tuesday....I have a couple more things I want to pick up and I have to wait for payday...LOL.
Have a good evening and thank you for stopping by!

Party Time!!!

Good Morning All, and this is a very good morning!!!  I reached 50 followers last night  :)  So now it is time for a giveaway!! I am working out the details on how I am going to handle it and will  posting info soon!!
Last night I was so happy that so many of you take the time to look at , and read my blog,  that my nails and I  had a little "party".  We decided to practice our sponging technique and really liked what we came up with :)

We invited quite a few guests though, here they are

An awful lot , I know, but I just got started and kept adding!!  The base coat was NYC Sidewalkers.  The sponging was done with a franken of mine, China Glaze Trendsetter, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out, and WnW Morbid.  Plate SH22 and Sally Hansen Insta Dri Pronto Purple for the stamping.

I thought it came out pretty nice!!

I think I may wear this for a couple of days...maybe...LOL
Hope everyone has a great day, thanks for stopping in, I will be working on the Giveaway details!

Week 4 Plaid Mani

Hello All...today is the 4th week of the 52 Week Challenge...a plaid mani.  I cringed because I am not good at freehand work :(     So I went to videos on the web and did some research.
I painted my nails with a clear base coat and then 2 coats of WnW Noctournal, a deep, almost black blue.
I got out my Art Deco in white and my acrylic paint in lavender.  I opted to just do tips, I thought plaid completely covering my nails would have been too much for me !!!!

They look much better far away...LOL.
Next week is Newspaper mani....back to the web  :(
I am just 3 followers from my first giveaway!!!  Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to run it??  I want to make it VERY simple.  I would greatly appreciate any input.  Have a great Sunday, thank you for coming by my little spot. :)

The Tropics

That is where I would like to be today...somewhere warm.  I did my manicure this morning and sent my daughter, the "Queen", a pic and she said it looked "tropical"...hence the title of  todays post.
I started with the usual clear base coat and then two coats of China Glaze  For Audrey.  I just got my Shaney plates yesterday, so thought I would use them.  I chose plate SH20.

I stamped with Konad Special Polish in white, and added  SV as my top coat.

Hope you all enjoyed my trip to the tropics!! Have a good day.  :)

Savage French Kiss

Good Morning All...how is everyone's Friday?!!  I am having a nice lazy day :)  I did do a mani early this morning using Pure Ice French Kiss as my base color and then stamping with RA plate 112 , the feathery looking one, and Sinful Colors Savage.  It came out a very pretty subtle look...I like it.  What do you think???

Also, I you haven't checked in on  Duckie's blog at Nail Project 2012  http://bluebedbug.blogspot.com/  today, you should...she has the funniest video that we all can relate too!!  Have a good day, thanks for coming by and as usual , comments are appreciated!!

My First, and maybe last Crackle Mani

Hello all, how is everyone today??  I had intended to post last night, but I suddenly came down with that yucky stomache virus  :(   I am feeling better today and decided to try something new.  Well, at least new to me,  the crackle mani.  I have just had a hard time  with the crackle craze.  I found a crackle polish on clearance at
Sallys and decided to try it.  China Glaze Cracked Concrete.

First I  placed my usual base coat and then 3 coats of a very pretty NYC Chinatown...I just love this shade.

I then added one coat of  The China Glaze Cracked Concrete, and SV.

Not too bad for crackle...I guess.
Well, until tomorrow, have a good evening!!!

Just Color

Good Morning!!!  How is everyone this morning, it is still cold here :(
I decided to just do color today.  I used China Glaze Designer Satin, which I got for free when I purchased Seche Vite from Sally's Beauty.  And this is a beauty, I love the ease of application.  This is 2 coats, there is still a faint tip line, probably could have done 3 coats.

Please pretend you don't see that little bit of left over black on my cuticles, thought I had gotten it all  :(
Hope everyone has a great day, thank you for coming by!!!

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Hi everyone...sorry that I have not posted in a couple of days. :(
My latest mani started with Sinful Colors Black on Black.  I chose the stamping plate BM 201, the "criss cross" looking one. I decided to "stripe" the plate with polishes Spontaneous by China Glaze and Konad Special Polishes in white and lavender.  I was pleased with the outcome. Although it was not my best stamping, it was done about 5:30 this morning !!!

This China Glaze Spontaneous is one that I picked up yesterday when I stopped at Sally's to get some SV.  They have a special going on that if you purchase SV  then you get a free China Glaze polish...pretty good I think!!!

I just love all shades of purple !!!
Also I want to thank all that are following me, it means alot to me that people want to see my work!!  Thank you!!!  Have a good evening,  see ya tomorrow.

So many great giveawaya!!

Good morning all!!  There are sooo many great giveaways out there in nail blog land right now!!!  Check out this one  http://bunnynails.blogspot.com/2012/01/bunny-nails-1st-giveaway.htm

Week 3, Color Block

Good Evening All.  Hope everyone had a good Sunday.  I had sooo much trouble trying to get a mani, that I liked, for this week.  What I finally did was a base coat of China Glaze Liquid Leather .   I used tape to make the "blocks", and painted with Pure Ice French Kiss.  Then I proceeded to smudge up the pinky :(
Today was just not a good day for manis!!!
But on a good note, I am only 15 followers away from my first giveaway!!  I am excited and have already collected some things. :)  :)

Thank you all for stopping in, and don't look too close at my cuticles, they hate me  for  the torture of today.
Have a good evening.!!!

Leaping Lizards

Hello All!!!  I am sure that you wonder about the titile of this post..."Leaping Lizards" is a catchphrase of Little Orphan Annie and very appropriate for todays mani.
I have done this mani to enter a contest at  http://constantlyredone.blogspot.com/   It is a really neat blog, check it out!!  The contest is to do a mani  inspired by your favorite coffee mug....here is my inspiration

Isn't he cute!?  I started by painting my nails a base coat of China Glaze Starboard, and then sponging with the following colors: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fairy Teal.  To achieve the "lizard" look I stamped with BM 215.
What do ya think????

Kinda ugly before the stamping :(

Thanks for stopping by, and make sure to check out http://constantlyredone.blogspot.com/

Surprise Guest Blogger!!!

Happy Friday All!!!  I have the pleasure of having a "guest" blogger today....my granddaughter, Teghan.  She did her nails completely by herself and wrote the following entry. Just a  warning, she did have some chocolate cookies prior to the photos...:)

Hi, my name is Teghan, Jackie is my Mema.  I painted my nails and these are the colors I used : my Mema's pink Franken and dotted with Fairy Teal then used a topcoat called Out The Door. Thank you, Teghan.

  My "partner in crime" !!!

I think she did pretty good in selecting her color combo.

The finished product...thank you all for stopping in today...have a good weekend.  I'm gonna go play Scrabble with Teghan!!!
