AIS, Light Stamping Over A Dark Base

Hello All.....Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!!!  Cold with snow on the ground here.....
Ais Challenge for today is to do a mani with a dark base and stamping with a light color.
Cast Of Characters.....

I guess I could have called this a Pure Ice mani, since that is the only polish that I used!!!
Here is the base coat....All Night Long....pretty...I hope it doesn't take me that long to remove it, so hoping that it doesn't stain!!!

The shade that was used for the stamping is Pure Ice Pussy Cat...not a shade I would wear alone....but it stamps beautifully!!!   Image plate GA35, from the Gals set was used for the stamping....

I am pleased, hope you are too!!!  I shall now remove this and give the cuticles another drink of moisturizer..........have a blessed evening.............................Jackie

Day 12, Tape Mani

Hello All, my posts seem to be getting later and later in the day....After to nights post, I think I will wait and pick up the "slower" paced challenge that starts next month....at least I am ahead and can work on it at my leisure....my cuticles are not happy with all the changing of manicures lately   :(
Anyway, here is the Cast Of Characters....

Here is the base coat of Essie, Sew Psyched, the only Essie that I own and I love it!!  What I don't love are tape mani's.....just not my favorite thing to do....so I went very simple....just a little square cut out of the piece of tape, I used one of those unmarked Color Clubs ......

It was hard to get them on the nail straight....so I decided to do some "dots" and dress it up some....The Color Club and a Pure Ice called "Electric" were used for the dotting.....

Well, there it is....I am now off to give my cuticles and hands a nice drink of moisturizer!!!   Have a blessed day tomorrow......................................Jackie

Day 11....Splatter

Hello All....tonite I have Day 11 in Crumpet Nail Tart's New 31 Day Challenge......Splatter!!
I like splatter mani's , but they are soooo messy to clean up, for me anyway!!!
I started with a base coat  of Snow Me White. I am just not a fan of white polish on my nails  :(
Then I decided to try water color paint to "splatter " with.....I watered down the black paint and used a small brush to "flick" the paint onto my nail.  It worked, but I was not real thrilled about the way it dried....just kinda weird.  So, I used a no name , cheap teal polish that I got at Dollar General, thinned it down with non acetone remover and repeated the process with it....worked fine!   Since I don't like shiny white, I used a matte top coat....it is wearable now  :)

It is okay, not one of my favorites....I guess this is one of the reasons that it is called a "challenge".....to get you to try different things!!

Day 9 and 10

Hello All....am I glad my week is over!!!!   I am behind on Crumpet Nail Tarts New 31 Day Challenge....so I have 2 days for you......Day 9, Saran Wrap and Day 10 Geometric. It just so happened that these two challenges work really well together  so I used it to my advantage  :)

Cast Of Characters....

The base coat is  SC Jungle Trail....

I used Pure Ice "All Night Long " and "Platinum" to do the Saran Wrap type of sponging effect on the nails.....

I was not very happy with the outcome, so I used this as the base for Day 10, Geometric, and used one of my favorite images of IP Mash -47.....

Now....I like this !!!! When I think of geometric, this image comes to mind!!!  Hope you like it.....I just want to thank you all again for taking the time to stop in  :)        Have a Blessed night!!!!         Jackie

Day 8, Duochrome,Flakie, Holographic!!!

Hello All, todays challenge in the New 31 Day Challenge in Crumpets Nail Tarts is to do a mani using a duochrome, flakie or holographic polish......I don't have any duochromes or flakies.....how deprived I am  :(  I believe that I Have a holographic.....Orly "Fowl Play", I have had this for over a year now and never wore it!!!   Oh , what I have missed ...It is beautiful!  It it like a cross between a flakie and a holographic.

Here is the base coat.....   love it!!!!

So I loved it so much that I want to wear it a second day, so I stamped with Pure Ice "Iced Copper", gorgeous and stamps perfect!!!   I used the GAls GA32 image plate......

Day 7, Ombre or Skittle....New 31 Day Challenge

Hi All....it is day 7 of the New 31 Day Challenge in  Crumpet Nail Tarts on FB.  The mani for today is to be an Ombre or Skittle mani....I chose to do a skittle....a teal skittle!!!

Cast Of Characters... I didn't realize that I had sooo many "teal" shaded polishes!!!

The "bumpy " looking things on the nails are actually the glitter in the stamping polish , which was Pure Ice , Electric.
While shopping in Wall World today, I say the NYC Matte top coat and decided to pick it up since I was out.....sooooo, I tried it......

I  doesn't seem to make things quite as matte as I would like, but it is okay.

Two For One Challenges!!!

Hello All...nice lazy Sunday here, maybe that is why I am not too happy with one of my challenge mani's......a complete fail  :(
So, this is how it started....I have 2 challenges today, AIS-Mani based on the book you are reading, and Crumpets Nail Tarts New 31 Day Challenge-Your Favorite Color Family....whew.....
I began with CNT 31 day mani, I used purple yesterday, which is my ultimate favorite color, next in line would be shades of black, grey, etc.
Here is the Cast of Characters for both mani's....alot, I know!!!

The mani in AIS is based on the book City Of Bones....which I finished this morning, awesome book!!!  It is also a trilogy and is being made into movies!!!  Queen Lauren has already informed me that we will be going to the midnight premiere of these movies!!!   Any way, here is a link to info about the book, you may want to read it and then you might understand my thinking on this mani!!!

This was the first step of this mani...I should have stopped here   :(     But I didn't, sooooo.....
I stamped the city skyline across the tips of the nails and added alittle yellow and NL for some sparkle.....okay, here is the final product.....not too proud of this one....but I have to show the bad with the good........ Plus my cuticles are REALLY angry, I tried to edit out some of the anger........
